Doug Potts is a Senior Consultant with CBIZ Valuation Group’s Real Estate Practice, based out of our St. Louis office. An Appraisal Institute designated MAI and AI-GRS, and Missouri Certified General Real Estate Appraiser, his responsibilities include business development, management of engagements, review and preparation of valuation assignments, and real estate consulting.
With 40 years of diversified experience in real estate consulting, banking, and valuation analysis, Doug’s expertise spans most property types including office, retail, multifamily, industrial and lodging as well as many special use properties such as health care facilities, education facilities and agribusiness. He has completed engagements for various purposes including estate and gift tax planning, property acquisition and disposition, property tax, litigation, financing, purchase price allocation and impairment for tax and financial reporting, and internal business planning.
Prior to joining CBIZ, Doug was Vice President and Chief Appraiser for Commerce Bancshares, a regional bank with over $32 billion in assets, 360 branches, and operations in 11 states. He managed valuation and appraisal review and environmental due diligence, representing over $3 billion in annual loans. Prior positions included St. Louis Development Corporation and the Missouri State Tax Commission, both public sector.
