Based in the New York office, Hongjo Kim is a certified public accountant in both the U.S. and Korea and serves as the practice leader of the Korean Services Group at CBIZ. He has extensive experience and in-depth knowledge in internal controls, taxation, and internal/external audits. He works closely with clients in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, energy, and brokerage and banking.
Hongjo is a recognized specialist in accounting and attestation services under both U.S. GAAP and IFRS, serving global companies based in the U.S. He has a solid and insightful understanding of IFRS, specifically in how IFRS differs from U.S. GAAP in practical application, and has led IFRS first-year adoption projects.
He also led readiness projects for management’s assessment of internal controls over financial reporting to comply with the Korean equivalent of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 (K-SOX) in both the U.S. and Korea.
