Michael is the Regional Tax Service Line Leader for CBIZ & MHM* of New England as well as the Leader of the New England Life Sciences Practice. Prior to joining CBIZ & MHM*, he served as a Tax Consulting Senior Manager in Ernst & Young's New England Life Sciences and Technology Tax Practice. Michael has over 25 years of experience servicing publicly traded and privately held clients in the life sciences, technology and manufacturing industries as well as high-net-worth individuals. He has assisted many multinational companies in developing and implementing proactive federal, state and international tax plans to minimize their worldwide tax liability.
Michael's experience also includes assisting publicly traded companies with ASC 740, ASC 740-10 and ASC 450 tax accounting issues, conducting Research & Development and Orphan Drug tax credit studies, serving as temporary Director of Tax for a publicly traded bio-pharmaceutical company, and working with closely held companies on tax and succession planning strategies. His expertise includes acquisition/disposition structuring, representing clients before various taxing authorities, and corporate tax planning and consulting.
