Tarra is the Leader of the New England State and Local Tax Practice. She has more than 25 years of experience in the tax industry. Tarra works with companies in a variety of industries, including energy, technology, manufacturing, communications, and life sciences, and assists clients with federal, state, and international tax minimization strategies and tax risk management.
Tarra also manages state and local tax services for companies in the New England region in the areas of planning, compliance, and risk mitigation. She is well versed in the many aspects of federal and international taxation, including tax planning and minimization, tax risk management, as well as transfer pricing. Tarra also assists her client base in navigating ASC 740, ASC 740-10 and ASC 450 accounting issues and managing their effective tax rate.
Tarra is frequently quoted in articles on state and local tax issues, including in publications such as State Tax Notes, SmartMoney, The Providence Business News and The Providence Journal. In 2018, she reviewed and authored the Rhode Island Chapter of BNA Bloomberg, a source of legal, tax, regulatory, and business information. Prior to joining CBIZ & MHM, she was a Senior Manager in Ernst & Young’s State and Local Tax Group in the Boston office.
